Clint Pires

Chief Information Officer, City of St. Louis Park

Clint Pires holds a master’s degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts. He has spent the past 47 years working in the public sector and academia. Clint has held positions with Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic District (Massachusetts), Northern Illinois University and the City of Elgin, Illinois. He also was assistant director of the Illinois City Management Association. He spent 15 years as manager of information technologies and five years as deputy city manager for the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota. He is now the chief information officer for the same city, responsible for IT, cable TV, communications and marketing. He was an adjunct professor at Hamline University’s Graduate School of Management in St. Paul, Minnesota, from 2001 to 2014.

Darren Nix

Darren Nix worked at Genetec for over 10 years in various roles. In his previous role, he led partnership efforts and engagements with Insight. He worked with cities and agencies to promote digital transformation and solutions for public safety. With more than 20 years of experience in the security industry, Darren has held positions in integration, consulting and design, with a focus in federal agencies, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and education.

Bob Bennett

Senior Fellow, Center for Digital Government

Bob Bennett is a senior fellow at the Center for Digital Government and founder of B2 Civic Solutions, an international smart cities consultancy firm based in Parkville, Missouri. From 2016 to 2019 he served in Mayor Sly James’ administration as the chief innovation officer for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. During his tenure, he oversaw smart city initiatives, including a 54-block total digitalization pilot, strategy development for the city and P3-based expansion plans.
