Learning and Development (L&D)

Learning and Development (L&D) is the practice of training employees to support a technology adoption, build new skills or improve existing capabilities. Learning and development programs break down complicated processes into simple and clear content to educate the audience and support business objectives.

Recent hires and existing employees are trained under learning and development initiatives that are typically led by internal human resources departments. Many companies use learning and development initiatives to support digital transformation activities, from cloud-based technology to Agile methodology adoptions.

Modern learning and development initiatives employ a mixture of education approaches and tools to reach their audiences, including:

  • In-person training seminars
  • Virtual trainings
  • E-learning and gamification
