When Insight first began working with this client, we provided device refresh assistance for the bank’s retail branches, which today number in the thousands. Success with this endeavor easily led to Insight being asked to deliver services and hardware to support an IT refresh across the bank.
The client relies on Insight to handle hardware procurement, integration and refresh. It uses Dell Technologies™ hardware, which offers built-in security capabilities to protect each endpoint and keep customer and bank data safe and secure, in addition to devices from other OEMs. Managing device differences at each step of the lifecycle can get extremely complicated when undertaken by businesses that don’t specialize in such tasks.
From our pricing programs and unified reporting capabilities to device exchange and asset disposal, Insight’s device lifecycle services address every need our client has while making it extremely simple on its end. Today, we support more than 80,000 endpoints, which include desktops, laptops and tablets. Dell Technologies provides devices for the bank’s back office, as well as monitors, peripherals and accessories. The bank has purchased Dell Trusted devices with SafeID™, providing visibility to BIOS tampering with SafeBIOS.
One key component to our success with the bank has been our focus on relationship building. Our teams meet regularly with key contacts to address issues and set new initiatives in motion as quickly as possible. We also coordinate weekly calls with Dell Technologies’ teams and the client to facilitate open communication and make necessary changes.
Through working with Insight, the bank now has far greater visibility and control over its purchases for hardware, software and accessories. We’re in the process of integrating our systems with the client’s ServiceNow® and Ariba® platforms, enabling sizable benefits in efficiency, inventory management and cost savings.
During our weekly calls, we regularly discuss additional integration opportunities, as well as problem areas, which are remediated expeditiously and carefully.
The client has also contracted with Insight for software asset management of its entire software portfolio. This has already helped the bank track licensing, improve user experience and ensure software investments are being maximized.
When COVID-19 descended upon the U.S., many businesses were forced to transition on-site workers to work-from-home scenarios.
Thankfully, the bank had Insight on its side at this time. We wasted no time, jumping right in to revise change requests and implement new processes around exchange, cleaning, configuration, break-fix and hot swap.
