Agentic AI accomplishes all three, but a lot of companies are unsure how to go about adopting it. GitHub Enterprise, a developer platform used by 90% of Fortune 100 companies, is something to consider. Not only does GitHub enable immediate access to agentic AI in the form of GitHub Copilot, with its AI assistant integrated directly in the platform, it also expedites the development of secure agents within your own organization.
Fresh off Insight having been named a finalist for the new Microsoft Accelerate Developer Productivity Partner of the Year award, this is a topic I’ll explore in greater depth when my colleagues and I present at Microsoft Ignite, running Nov. 18-21 in San Francisco, during sessions hosted live and online. I’m keenly focused on unlocking developer productivity with GitHub Enterprise and will explain how it can accelerate agentic AI adoption, positioning your organization for lasting long-term success.
Consider this a primer.
Agentic AI is fundamentally changing expectations for speed, automation, and intelligence in software development.
Organizations are motivated to unlock greater developer productivity to fully leverage it, but many are unsure where to start. GitHub Enterprise stands out as the industry’s leading platform because it centralizes code management, security, and productivity tools, laying the foundation for developer velocity and AI adoption.
While GitHub has its share of intricacies, it also can be incredibly simple to use when leveraged to its fullest extent. Under the right guidance, it enables companies to, in true Microsoft fashion, “do more with less” regardless of scope, scale, and size. For agentic AI, GitHub Copilot can help automate and deploy agents deployed through knowledge assist, capability and coding uplifts, and just delivery enhancement in general.
Rather than trying to master everything at once, organizations succeed when they start by migrating code to GitHub, then layer on advanced tools and features as needed. Existing pipelines (like Jenkins) can remain in place during the transition, reducing risk and enabling teams to realize value quickly.
This staged approach is not just theory; it’s proven in practice.
For example, GoTo Group, an Indonesian payments and financial-services business, engaged Insight to deploy GitHub Copilot across its organization. We first piloted the platform, leading to 88% of participants recommending full-scale adoption; 94% said they’d be disappointed if they could no longer use the AI assistant.
Thanks to the pilot’s success, GoTo moved forward with a company-wide rollout, leading to even more encouraging numbers. Since then, 90% of GoTo’s more than 1,600 developers report completing tasks faster with GitHub Copilot, saving an average of over seven hours per week. These time savings allow their development team to put more focus into mission-critical tasks, translating directly into greater innovation and agility.
GitHub’s project management and tasking capabilities, combined with advanced features, drive workflow improvements and agentic AI readiness. Shared infrastructure, modules, and files accelerate builds and feedback loops, while feedback reaches developers faster. These improvements tie directly into broader organizational goals and readiness for agentic AI.
Success stories like GoTo highlight Insight’s commitment to clients as their end-to-end, AI-first Solutions Integrator. Insight’s recognition as a finalist for Accelerate Developer Productivity Partner of the Year is a testament to our holistic approach. We don’t just deploy technology. We partner with clients to devise strategies that accelerate AI adoption and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Our proven implementation methodologies, such as RADIUS for AI, guide organizations through every phase of transformation, from initial assessment and roadmap development to deployment, optimization, and ongoing support.
By leveraging platforms like GitHub Enterprise, we help clients centralize code management, security, and productivity tools, laying the foundation for developer velocity and AI readiness. Our approach ensures that organizations can adopt advanced solutions like GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security in a way that aligns with their unique business goals, governance frameworks, and technical maturity.
Being named a global finalist for the Accelerate Developer Productivity Partner of the Year is especially meaningful to us at Insight because it recognizes not just our ability to advise clients, but our hands-on experience as practitioners.
We’ve walked the walk by adopting GitHub Copilot across our own development teams, with about 500 Insight teammates worldwide actively using it every day.
We’ve seen a firsthand transformation in how our teams collaborate and deliver. GitHub Copilot has driven a 20% increase in delivery speed, but the real story is in how it changes developer dynamics:
This creates a virtuous cycle of learning, empowerment, and productivity. For developers, Copilot is more than just an AI assistant, it’s a tool that helps break down barriers of tribal knowledge, offers code explanations across languages and frameworks, and strengthens the organization’s overall security posture.
“There’s still a lot of tribal knowledge that all these individuals need to be successful…. The more you embrace it, the better”, as I was quoted by Forrester in Chris Gardner’s report, “Don’t Fire Your Developers! What AI-Enhanced Software Development Means For Technology Executives”. AI can help organizations embrace it the right way.
Unlike many AI tools, Copilot is architected for enterprise-grade use, ensuring your code and intellectual property remain protected and never used to train external models. By migrating to GitHub and embracing Copilot, we’ve centralized our code management, productivity, and security tools, thereby laying the foundation for greater developer velocity and accelerating our own journey toward agentic AI adoption.
The accelerating rise of agentic AI calls for a strategic, measured approach. GitHub is at the forefront, aligning AI capabilities with developer maturity, governance frameworks, and the business outcomes organizations need.
Agentic AI is reshaping how companies must build, test, and deploy software. A multi-tiered adoption strategy with the right partner, starting with GitHub, can ensure long-term agility and resilience across what has transformed into an AI-first development landscape.
I invite you to continue this conversation and learn more by joining me at Microsoft Ignite by registering for the following sessions:
Whether you’re charting the course for enterprise AI adoption or building the next generation of intelligent applications, the path forward starts with decisive action. Migrating your code to GitHub isn’t just a technical upgrade. It’s a strategic move that unlocks developer velocity, security, and the full potential of agentic AI.
The future belongs to those who build it. Let’s take the first step together and shape what comes next.
