Blog The Importance of Listening: We’re Here to Listen

One of my favorite quotes is very simple: "We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak."

Smiling business colleagues gathered in meeting

Listening is an important part of any relationship worth its weight, and it’s particularly important when I’m spending time with our clients. It’s critical for me to understand the challenges they’re facing, the outcomes they’re seeking and the successes they’re trying to achieve.

I find that listening carefully to the stories they tell and the angst they express helps our organization be a better, more effective partner — and be more proactive in developing just the right capabilities to help our clients win in the marketplace.

Each year, we take time to intentionally listen to our clients through the Insight Intelligent Technology Index, hot off the press and celebrating its fourth year this year. The in-depth survey seeks the opinions and thoughts of enterprise-level IT decision-makers across North America, and the report always provides a great starting point for rich discussions with our clients about how these trends mirror their own experiences and challenges.

A deeper dive: Download a free copy of the 2019 Insight Intelligent Technology Index to explore what we learned from IT decision-makers.

I invite you to download this report, and I encourage you to share it with the leadership of your organization so they, too, understand that today every business is a technology business.

It takes Insight to listen and achieve better business outcomes. If you’re an Insight client today, I sincerely thank you for the tremendous partnership we have with you and your organization. And if you’re not, I hope you soon will be, so we can help you tackle the challenge of both managing your technology needs today and transforming your business for future and ongoing success.
