1. Can you give us a bit of background on yourself and what you do at Insight?
I started at Insight in April 2018. Within 3 months I was offered the opportunity to head up a brand new function- the 'Complex Solutions Team'. The team grew and succeeded; winning 55-60% of complex opportunities coming through the team.
In March 2019, the Complex Solutions team transformed into the Service Engagement Team which now consists of Solutions Specialists for Managed Services and Solutions Co-ordinators. We work on multi-disciplinary engagements, with multiple technologies with extensive input into Request for Proposal/Bids/Tenders etc.
2. What tech industry trends do you predict for the next decade?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) – AI thinking is predicted to be advanced enough that it could be used to sit on a corporate board of directors due to its capacity to mimic human characteristics by 2026.
3. What’s the most frustrating thing about the tech industry?
Tech develops too quickly for humans to keep up and, many, many acronyms to remember!
4. What’s your earliest tech memory?
My brother bought me a Tamagotchi for my 6th birthday. Fan-bloody-tastic.
5. How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?
I asked one of my best friends to answer this for me, she said Generous, loyal and unique'. - I'm happy with that.
6. What one piece of tech could you not live without?
Sad enough to say this - my mobile device. I'm constantly connected, wherever I am in the world… not necessarily always a good thing, not necessarily a bad thing either.
7. What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I got married in the 'White Chapel' in Vegas in 2017.
8. What do you need to be successful in the tech industry?
You need to be innovative, inquisitive and dare to push boundaries.
