Insight Canada’s Synergy21 Conference Reimagines IT for the Digital, Dispersed World

Annual partner event unites 250+ solution provider experts from across Canada to discuss technology’s changing role in business

TEMPE, Ariz., November 11, 2020 – Insight Enterprises (NASDAQ:NSIT), the global provider of Insight Intelligent Technology Solutions™ for organizations of all sizes, united more than 250 IT industry experts from about 85 software, hardware and cloud providers for Synergy21 on Tuesday. The annual partner conference, held virtually for the first time, drew Canada’s leading technology companies to a forum discussing how world events and technology trends are impacting the managed service provider community.

This year’s Synergy theme of “{Re}” played off the prefix re-, acknowledging how organizations have reached an inflection point at the end of a volatile 2020. As a new year approaches, they are now looking to refocus business strategies to engage customers more effectively in the digitally reliant new world, reassess IT spending to realize greater value, and reinvent how they use technology to create future-ready workspaces – on-premises and for remote working. Yet, one in three enterprises say they’re only somewhat prepared to handle the changes, according to Insight’s 2020 Intelligent Technology Pulse.

“The disruptions we’ve seen this year have caused most, if not all, organizations to completely rethink how they work, how they go to market with their products and services, and how they engage with customers. We used to think of digital transformation as a way to describe the needs of tomorrow, but everyone has been forced to reconsider it in terms of immediately addressing today’s changes,” said John Dathan, senior vice president and general manager of Insight Canada.

In opening Synergy21, Dathan shared an example of a traditional steel recycler in Alberta that has reinvented itself through automation. By using digital cameras, artificial intelligence and machine learning to recognize hazardous materials like propane canisters during the metals sorting process, the company is reducing health and safety risks to its workers and avoiding unnecessary maintenance or downtime of equipment.

“They’re thinking in entirely new terms about how to solve day-to-day challenges using technology, and it really is key to becoming safer, more connected, more efficient and as competitive as possible,” said Dathan.

With a global network of more than 5,000 technology solution providers, Insight also took time during Synergy21 to recognize key partnerships that are helping to make digital transformation stories like this happen. The following partners were recipients of 2020 Insight Synergy Awards:

·       Digital Innovation Partner of the Year – Lenovo

“We’ve seen a lot of resiliency this year as we’ve completely adapted how we work, how we travel, how we and our children learn, and even how we play,” said Joyce Mullen, president, Insight North America. “There are so many reasons to feel excited about the future, and now is the time to reimagine the possibilities. No industry is more compelling or more essential to meeting that potential than ours, and we have a powerful team of partners helping us address today’s challenges and bring transformation to life as organizations of all kinds reset for tomorrow.”
