In early 2019, Oracle made a major change to its Java licensing model, creating a new wave of technical and commercial challenges for organisations to identify and address. Oracle now requires licenses for all employees and associated staff to be covered with a user license, which has the potential to significantly impact organisations financially. From the 23rd of January 2023, organisations are required to pay license fees for all employees via the Employee Universal Subscription. However, customers are now facing a new challenge: exorbitant Java subscription costs.
